Can Chiropractic Help Headaches?
Most tension headaches begin in the neck. Here's how chiropractic care addresses the underlying causes — not just the symptoms.
Chronic headaches are one of the most common reasons patients visit our Kingston clinic. And for many of them, the source isn't in the head at all — it's in the neck.
Where tension headaches begin
The suboccipital muscles — the small muscles at the base of your skull — carry a huge amount of tension from screen work, driving, and stress. When they stay tight, they can refer pain over the top of the head, into the temples, and behind the eyes.
Chiropractic care addresses this pattern directly: releasing tight muscles, restoring motion to the upper cervical joints, and retraining posture so the tension doesn't come back.
What to expect
A thorough headache assessment looks at your history, posture, neck mobility, and orthopedic tests. Most patients see meaningful change within a handful of visits, combined with home exercises and workstation coaching.
